Breathalyser PDF Print E-mail

As an employer you take responsibility for the actions of your employees, while at work. You supervise, train and advise them on the manner in which you require them to conduct themselves. The potential safety implications of actions carried out by people who are impaired through either the effects of alcohol or drugs are well established, particularly within a high-risk environment such as a construction site or factory floor.

As your workforce is your greatest asset, it is imperative that they are physically and mentally fit enough to carry out the tasks you require of them. To assist you in this difficult area, Physical Health Screens can provide discreet Alcohol testing.

The breath alcohol electrochemical monitor used by Physical Health Screens is calibrated every six months to ensure accuracy. The instrument used gives a quick measurement of a person’s alcohol concentration through measurement of the breath alcohol concentration.

The mouthpiece is covered by packaging until it is fitted to the instrument to keep it totally hygienic and uncontaminated.  The packaging is completely removed when the person is ready to be tested.  A new mouthpiece is used for every individual.

The test result is provided almost immediately and usually displayed between 5 and 25 seconds. The results are presented in the form of mg/L (milligrams ethanol per litre breath air).

A printout is produced showing the displayed result.  The documentation will show the location, Alcotest 6810, device number, printer number, date / time, name of person tested, date of birth, operator’s signature, Subject analysis and signature of person tested.  The above will be printed in triplicate.  One for the employer one for the person tested and one copy to be retained by Physical Health Screens.
